Introduction
Hello everyone! I'm Chelsea Kemp. I have created this blog to share my experiences with my family and friends as I travel the world. Let me tell you a little something about myself and then I'll fill you on my traveling. I was born, grew up, and have lived in Orem, Utah my entire life. I'm 19 years old and I turn 20 in October. My parents, Shari and James, are super awesome and I have two older sisters, Alex and Jessica, and a younger brother CJ. I also have a brother-in-law Cory who is married to Jess. I'm a typical Mormon girl from Utah. I am attending Utah Valley University and I'm still undecided on my major - I'm just doing my generals right now and trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. I went to Timpanogos High School and graduated in 2012. I have always done pretty well in school, mostly because I'm a spaz about grades. It paid off - I was in the top 5% of my graduating class, got to wear the cool gold cords at graduation, and it got me a scholarship for a year so that was awesome! Ok, now to my traveling. For my senior trip, I went on a tour of Europe with Kris Caldwell, a teacher at Timpanogos and an awesome friend of mine, and my sisters. We spent two weeks going to London, Paris, and a few places in Italy including Rome and Florence (I had to mention Florence because it was my favorite place, love it!). It was the best two weeks! I also went with some childhood friends, Kalee Brimhall and Kelli Ricks who just added more fun and crazy to the trip. Anyway, I loved traveling, trying new foods (I tried it all, even though I didn't like it all...), seeing all the amazing historical sights I've spent my whole life hearing about, and just experiencing new cultures and ways of life. So I was walking down the hall at UVU one day and I saw a sign for a study abroad in London. I immediately freaked and wanted to learn everything about it. It's a six week program, five weeks in London, the last week in Rome. The program's emphasis is on English Literature and has an affiliation with the Honors Program at UVU which I'm apart of. I got accepted into the program in January and have everything paid off. I leave June 9 at 3:15!!! I've already connected with some people that are going - there are 24 people going I believe, 21 are girls, 3 are guys haha we have two professors going with us - Rick is the group leader and Nate is the other professor. I'm really excited to take their classes. I'm taking a mythology class from Rick (I love mythology!!!) and a modern European thought class from Nate (for the Honors Program). Every weekend or so we are traveling to other countries or places in England - the first weekend we are there we are going to Bath and Stonehenge. We are also going to Ireland, Paris, and Scotland. I'm super excited for all of them! I am also seeing Maroon 5 in Dublin - ya baby!!! I'm so excited, we made paper chains to count down (if you think that's childish, you are just jealous of our awesomeness) - three weeks from today! I'm so excited! Anyway, if you would like to keep reading and see how my exploring is going, follow me! This is where I'll post every night or so, sharing what I did that day and such. Thanks!!! Let us see all the places I'll go!
