July 7, 2013 - Sleeping in, J.K. Rowling, and a Delayed Airplane

We woke up around 10:00, got ready, and packed up. We had to check out at 11:00. We left our already full luggage in the luggage storage and headed out. A lot of people went their own ways. Kasee, Brandon, Cassidy, and I went to Starbucks and grabbed some breakfast. Stephen and Tayler were supposed to go to an Indian restaurant on a date but the place didn't open until 1:00 so they hung out with us until then. We just walked down Princes Street and went to a few shops. There was an all American candy store!

They had twinkies for £2 or a box of 8 was £14.50 haha ridiculous! I got a Charleston Chew. We went to Primark to get sunglasses for Kas. I ended up getting some fake ray bands that have the British flag on them. We kept walking and got up to the main castle street. Kas and I wanted to do a few last minute shopping so we went to a few stores. Tayler and Stephen went on their date then we all met up at 2:15. We walked down to the Elephant House Cafe where J. K. Rowling would go. 

There isn't proof she wrote there but I'm sure she at least wrote something or thought of the gloriousness of Harry Potter. We ended up not eating there because their card machine wasn't working so we went across the street to Nandos. I got a chicken pitta and garlic bread which was really good. Brandon, Kas, and I shared a caramel cheesecake which was yummy. We headed down to the park and chilled there for a while. It was such a beautiful day, there were bagpipes playing and it was just really nice to just lay in the grass and relax. 

We headed back to the hostel and chilled for a while, watched the final round of Wimbledon which I didn't care about. We got our luggage and headed to the airport. Our flight was supposed to leave at 9:10. We got to the airport around 6:00. We went through security. My bag was totally fine. However I seriously think that they think I'm a terrorist or they're playing some sick joke because I got scanned walking through the thing! The lady groped me, spent a little too long on my bra - I told her she had to buy me dinner first. Everyone thought it was so funny haha it was ridiculous. We found a big bench and parked it. We played cards and just chilled. The plane kept getting delayed more and more. We got sandwiches and chocolate and played more cards. There were only two hours of free wifi so I used that up the first two hours because how the heck was I supposed to know the plane was going to be that late?! We all got a little crazy. I played Egyptian Rat Screw (or in Stephen's words Moroccan Mouse Nail) and War with Tayler. We finally got on the plane around 11:00. We did some mad libs, and of course they turned dirty. Kas and I looked through pictures until we finally made it to London. We got to the train at 12:40. The next train didn't come until 1:09 so that was fun. I slept on the train then we got off and waited for the night bus for a while. We finally made it home! Those stairs were welcomed. I unpacked, had frosted flakes, and finally went to bed while watching Ella Enchanted at 4:30. I'm glad my family is home safe! Hope they had a wonderful time in Hawaii. Love you! Night!
