Day 8: June 16, 2013 - Happy Father's Day, Church, Markets, and Laundry

Today was really chill and fun. I woke up at 8:00 and just zoned out in my bed for a while. I needed to shower but I was like no! I got ready then we hurried down to church. We knew it was by the V&A but we didn't know where so we ended up following people in suits and dresses and ended up being the right spot so it was cool. It was really crowded. We went to the family ward and there were some of the cutest kids I've ever seen! I find it really cool that our church (the LDS church) is the same everywhere you go, even if it's in a different language or whatever. Because it's Father's Day, the primary kids sang and it was really cute. The speakers were French and their accents were really strong so it was kind of hard to pay attention. The stake president got up last and I swear he was in his thirties - insane! We sang God be with You til We Meet Again and I love that song so much. We walked home and I showered and curled my hair - because there are no plugs in the bathroom, I had to put little mirror in my bunk bed and just figure it out. It turned out pretty good, my curls have stayed in pretty well. We finished getting ready then we (as in Kasee, Tash, Sam, and Shelby) went to the little street markets. We took the South Ken tube to Aldgate Street and walked a street market outside. I got a really cute shirt for 7 pounds. Freaking Kas found a jacket for 1 pound! We continued on and found the Liverpool or something market. It was a ton of little booths all smashed together inside this building. It was really fun! Those are my favorite places because you can get like cool things that are original and you normally can't find them anywhere else. I got a cute owl necklace, some scarves for only 1 pound. I also got a present for my papa, sssshhhhh. I got separated from the other girls but I just figured they wouldn't leave me so I just walked around looking for them. After about 30 minutes I found them and just walked up and said hey guys and they all freaked out! They were like we thought you had been taken! You're very calm about this haha I was actually really calm, mostly because I knew if I had freaked out, it would have been obvious that I was a tourist and probably would've been taken haha but it all worked out so I'm good! We walked around trying to find a place to eat. We stopped at a shop and the lady that owned it was so cool! Her name was Margeret but everyone calls her Margy. She kept calling us babes and darling. She just had really fun vintage stuff and was playing fun music. I just talked to her while everyone tried on some shorts and stuff. It was really fun. We ate at Gourmet Burger. It was really yummy, more of a BBQ burger. I find it really stupid that we have to pay for water... They had skinny fries that were really good and skinny.

We shopped around a bit more than decided to get on the tube and get off at a random stop. We picked the Blackfriars stop and got out and walked around. Because its Sunday, a lot of things were closing down early so we just headed back. I stopped at Tesco and got some chocolate while they got some hot chocolate at Cafe Nero. Then I just had a really chill night. I took a little nap then skyped with my family for a bit. I went down and did laundry with Anna. It took us a while to figure out the machines and she wasted like 3 pounds. We put the soap in the wrong spot... Oops. But hey my clothes turned out clean so that's all i care about. It was really expensive and it took forever!

So I chatted with Anna for a bit then did some homework. When my stuff was done, I took it upstairs and checked to make sure everything was ok haha then I had some bread and cheese and blogged. I'm going to go to bed early and try to catch up on some sleep. It was a really nice, fun day. Can't wait for Tower of London tomorrow! Happy Father's Day! My dad is the best, just so you know. Sorry for the little to no pictures today - a lot of the shops at the market didn't allow pictures... Night!
